FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Question: How do QR codes improve the buyer experience?
Answer: QR codes help connect potential buyers to the landing page or site of your choice, not just where a search engine directs them. This is crucial for keeping potential buyers engaged, reducing frustration, and increasing conversions. Your customized landing page can include specific content like your open house schedule, contact form, streamlined navigation, and clear calls-to-action.
Question: How do the QR codes work?
Answer: ScanToHome generates unique, dynamic QR codes assigned to a specific URL (website address) of your choice. The codes are sent to you digitally as well as printed on stickers for use on yard signs, open house signs, and other static marketing materials. Home buyers can scan the QR codes using the built in Camera app on their smart phone from about 40 feet away (depending on the zoom capabilities of the clients smart phone). They tap the link that comes up on the camera app to easily access the home listing or your company website – whatever URL you point the code to.
Question: Can the codes be reused?
Answer: Yes, on the Pro plan. Each QR code is unique and points to a single URL, but you have control over which URL is assigned to the code. Agents can log into our self-service portal to easily assign or change a code’s URL. The Base plan uses a static website QR Code and cannot be changed.
Question: How many QR codes do I get?
Answer: Both the Base and Pro packages include one QR code printed on 10 stickers. With the Pro package, you can reuse the stickers by assigning the QR code to a new URL. And if you need additional codes for a different URL or listing, you can add codes and sticker sets for just $19 each.
Question: I have a Pro subscription; how do I get more stickers?
Answer: Pro subscribers can get 1 new set of codes and 10 stickers every month. As you get additional listings, you can get new sticker sets, each with their own unique QR code.
Question: What are the specs of the stickers?
Answer: The stickers are 4 inches wide by 4 inches tall. They are printed on premium quality vinyl. We use a medium-tack adhesive, so the stickers stay put but they’re not impossible to remove later. Agents have their choice of sticker color combinations, including black printing on a white background or white printing on black.
Question: Do people really use QR codes?
Answer: QR codes are becoming more popular, not less. While they may have experienced a surge during the pandemic, their usage has continued to grow and is projected to reach new heights in the coming years. More people are scanning QR codes than ever before, and the number of global QR code scans is increasing. China is the global technology leader. On a recent trip there last year, our web developer Dan saw that they use QR codes everywhere.
Question: Do QR codes really drive clicks and action?
Answer: QR codes offer a quick and easy way to access information and engage with companies and brands. All modern smartphones have built-in QR code readers, making it simple for users to scan them. In 2025, QR code usage and search interest are projected to show significant growth across various industries, indicating a strong positive trend. QR code scans globally reached 41.77 million in 2025, marking a remarkable 433% increase over the past four years.
Question: What are dynamic QR codes?
Answer: Dynamic QR codes are codes that can be updated and tracked after printing, versus static codes which are one and done. This means you can update the information or landing page a dynamic QR code links to without needing to reprint it. Dynamic codes use a short, redirecting URL, allowing for flexibility and tracking capabilities. Dynamic codes are gaining momentum, garnering 7,181,345 scans in 2025. This indicates a shift towards more interactive and personalized experiences.
Question: Do my real estate marketing efforts really need QR codes?
Answer: Yes. A huge YES. Consider the home buyer’s experience for a minute. They pass by your static open house sign, two miles and ten turns away from the house you’re selling. They decide to give the place a look, but then get lost on the way – no matter how good your sign placement is (we’ve all been in today’s housing tract mazes and gotten turned around). Frustrated, they give up and go home or, worse yet, see your competitor’s open house and end up there. You just lost a potential lead or sale.
Conversely, that same buyer sees your sign and spies the QR code. They give it a quick scan (without even leaving their car) and click the link. Bingo! They’re now on your chosen, customized landing page and can see exactly what you want them to see, including the home address for fast and easy navigation. Next thing you know they’re on your doorstep asking the size of the walk-in closet. You just gained a client.
